Rainy Days

Rainy days always make me smile. I simply love them! What could be better? Especially when it's a steady gentle rain that lets you keep all the windows open so you can smell and hear it as well. The boys love rainy days as much as I do. Nothing gets us out of the house faster than rain, unless maybe it's snow. Another huge hit here. The boys were outside from 7 am until 7 pm yesterday. They only came in to dry off a bit so they could eat. What a fun day to explore! Everything looks so different in the rain. We saw turtles and fast running streams, and the light refracting through rain drops on leaves was just magical to Zac. The best find of the day though had to be our salamander friend. And I do mean friend! This little guy was SO snugly. He loved to be held and was not a bit afraid. He sat perched happily on one boy or another while we searched the Internet trying to find out just what kind he was. We discovered the salamanders are actually "in need of assistance" in Tennessee. Wow, how cool that we got to see one up close....very close! They are really cool - I even liked the little guy. As evening came though we know it was time to say good-bye but it seemed as hard for our new friend as it was for us. He refused to go and kept getting back on Ethan's hand. At long last we said our good-byes .....but.....it's raining again today. HOORAY! What adventures await?????
