Several, several years ago the boys were given a knitting loom and yarn as a birthday present from a crafty friend. They had very little interest in it so it was put in the back of the hall closet. The gift made two moves with us, even across state lines. The yarn was used now and then mainly when they wanted to string up one of their Star Wars figures or throw a Ninja Turtle over the rail from the top of the stairs. Sending it "bungee jumping" down two stories. The loom was pulled out only twice and deemed too hard. This week, for some reason, that all changed. The boys have caught the knitting fever! Ethan has made a hat for Zac and a tiny newborn hat for his brand new cousin. Alex is working on a hat for himself and keeps saying that he cannot believe how fun knitting actually is! Who knew!? I had to take them yarn shopping....yarn shopping! Now they want to learn how to knit with needles. I will be asking my new very crafty friend for lots of help on this but it does sound fun!!! Here are a few shots of Ethan's handy work.
