Our Visit to Georgia

First of all I am SO glad Mark and I went with our gut feeling and took Ethan to see the doctor in Georgia. We still do not have any clear answers but they did assure us Ethan's condition is not life threatening. Something we have all had in the back of our minds. We are trying a new treatment starting this weekend and hope that it will finally do the trick. If not we will go back and they will become more aggressive. The doctors up here in Chattanooga put him on WAY too high of a dose of steroids for a then 6 year old boy. His skin has thinned due to this and has also become addicted to the medication. We are hopeful that this new treatment will help this as well.

In other news - we visited our old favorite park. Alex and Ethan have such wonderful memories of going there every week and playing with their homeschooling friends. We really enjoyed going there but forgot all about that wonderful Georgia humidity! Here are a few pictures of that good ole park.

This used to be where Alex would hang out EVERY time we went to this park.

We also spent the night with my brother and his family. I enjoyed visiting with them so much - it was a beautiful evening and cooled up a bit. Ethan was awestruck by his cousin Greg. I have said before what an amazing soccer player Greg is. He played in Holland this year and is going back next year as well. We were so impressed with soccer skills that we are going back down in November to see him play on his college experience team. I have mentioned before that he's only 16 right? I just cannot say enough how talented he is! To top it all off, he also has the patience of a saint. He worked with Ethan in their back yard and he has also coached a youth soccer team. Wonderful nephew I have there! Here are some shots of the boys kicking the ball around.

Run Ethan. He was just beaming in this picture!
Yes, that blur is the ball. And yes, Greg is barefoot!

Yep, they have a pro sized goal in their yard.....doesn't everyone?

Greg plays goalie so Ethan is no match for him!
BAM! This was the last kick of the night. Ethan DID block Greg's kick!!! Unfortunately, it was with his face. :(

Wonderful pictures....it looks like you had a great time. Your brother is a doll! :)
I hope Ethan is better soon. That's scary what the steroids are doing to him. Does he have to go back there soon?
