What a week

First my Zac started not feeling too well last Friday. Runny nose and clingy. By Monday he was feeling better so we went swimming at Greg and Sam's awesome pool and Maddie taught me to knit poolside. Fun, fun time. While driving home Ethan said he did not feel well. I thought it was probably from swimming so much and the hot, hot sun. He was fine that evening.
Tuesday we went to Pump It Up with the boy's friend Grant. Before we went, Ethan said he was not feeling well again. Once there, he played like a wild man. Back home that evening he seemed just fine.
Wednesday, Mark headed out of town and Alex had to get 4 teeth extracted for braces. They had not even taken Alex back for his extractions when Claire (the worlds BEST babysitter) called saying Ethan didn't seem right and that he was very tired. Since I could not leave poor Alex, I had her give Ethan some Tylenol and told her to have him lay down and watch TV in my room. Anyway, Alex did GREAT! Absolutely wonderful! He was so proud of himself for doing so well with the extractions and so was I.
We returned home to a very sick Ethan. However, with it being so late in the day and Mark being out of town, I did not rush him to urgent care or anything. I kept alternating Tylenol and Motrin but could not get his fever down. We were up ALL night. ALL night. Poor Ethan, my boy who never complains, cried ALL night. He said his ears hurt so bad he could not stand it. Somehow, we made it until morning. Ethan slept a couple of hours while I waited for the doctors office to open. When he would wake for a few minutes he was not at all aware of anything. I carried my seven year old child into the doctor's office. Even the dr. said he was the sickest kid they had seen in awhile. He said Ethan had a bad double ear infection. He gave us some numbing drops and antibiotic and said Ethan should feel great in no time. That night he only woke a few times and had me put more numbing stuff in his achy ears.
Friday he did feel better and was not as tired. Saturday, he could not hear well at all.
Today he is basically reading lips. We actually are screaming right next to his ear and he's like, "What did you say?" Tomorrow will be spent at the dr again and possibly heading to an ENT in Georgia. Wish us luck.....and sleep!
