Tomorrow

Tomorrow - January 28th. My first little boy will turn 11 !!! 11 my goodness how time has flown. In a way I wish I could go back and really try to cherish every moment but then again all that wishing will just waste the time with him I have right now. I remember holding him in my arms rocking him to sleep when he was just a little guy. I would hold him for hours (this was when he was a only child and I had more time to do that!) and just stare at him hoping I could remember that moment forever. Tonight as I tucked him in he asked if I could lay with him for a few minutes, I started to make some excuse...you know the kitchen ALWAYS needs cleaned - but then, I realized that I should be cherishing this moment too. I climbed up in his bed and we talked for a bit - we always have the best talks at bedtime. Anyway, I'm not so sad that he's turning 11 we've had some really great times and many wonderful memories are being made everyday. Although I miss that sweet little boy I love the big guy he's becoming.

Happy Birthday Ethan!!

Ethan's birthday was actually on the 13th but what good would a birthday post be without pictures?? I have my pictures back now so here we go!
Eight years ago the sweetest, kindest, most caring and loving, funny little boy was born into my life and he still makes me smile everyday. I can still feel his warm and heavy little body as he was laid upon my chest just seconds after he entered this world. He was born with a smile on his face and a song in his heart and has only gotten better with age. Happy Birthday Ethie! We love you!!!!

Missing my Pictures.

I just don't really want to blog without my pictures. My blog is really more about the pictures telling the story...now what?! Mark did manage to pull ALL our pictures off the old computer and put them on another hard drive so they are safe at least. I just can't post them here yet. :(
All went well with Jacob....really well. At bedtime, I would tuck him in and he was asleep before I hardly left the room. Meals went ok, he wasn't too sure about our "healthy" food but seemed to eat enough to survive. He found organic cereal bars delicious. Just after lunch, he would ask non stop if it was nap time. He went right down for a nap after lunch and again would go straight to sleep! How cool is that?? My kids have always fought sleep, I mean REALLY fought sleep. The boys didn't fight at all and Zac even shared his Moon Sand with Jacob. Zac does NOT usually share his Moon Sand! :0
Yesterday we all went to Grant's birthday party. Grant and Ethan are best buddies and neighbors as well. It was at a HUGE play center at the "Y" just down the street. The boys had an absolute blast and Mark and I enjoyed watching them run around and play games. They are certainly not shy! That's good though, I always have been and I hate it! After that it was off to our favorite hang out. The used book store. We go there as often as we can. Mark had cleaned out a lot of his old books and I got rid of some textbooks so we have a nice little store credit going on. It won't last long with us though - we LOVE books!! Oh yea, we went to another book store before the party too. Books, books, books, we're all about books. :) Anyway, last night we put a big tablecloth down in the living room and watched the movie Kicking and Screaming together. I was pretty funny and anything to do with soccer is a big hit around here. Zac cannot wait until he's 4 so he can play too. After tucking the boys in, I got a bit of knitting in and Mark read until he fell asleep. Pretty good night for us!

Just my luck! I'm ready to squeeze in some blogging here and there again and now my computer with all my photos has locked up! UGH!!! Mark is sick now too so he can't really do much to fix it yet. :( Oh well, I'll be extra busy this week anyway since the little boy who lives down the street is staying with us while his parents are out of town.
Now off to tuck them all in! :-)

I have been going like crazy - fun stuff but very busy! I'll post pictures soon.....really, I will! Today however all the "on the go" has caught up with me and I am miserably sick.
We had a wonderful, healthy Christmas which was a true blessing. At least one of us is usually throwing up on Christmas. We did run Zac to the doctor late one night. He had had a fever of between 101 and 105 for 3 days. On day four he said his neck was hurting, I gave him some Tylenol and put him down for a nap. Then I remembered my very dear friend Mindy... I could just hear her yelling at me. Her son came dangerously close to not being here because of meningitis and I got pretty worried then when I thought about that. I watched him like a hawk until he woke and then we took him in. They checked him all over and could find no reason for him to have such a high fever. Blood work was ordered - he laughed and laughed. He thought it was SO cool to see his blood coming out like that......ok.....not the reaction I was expecting. No
idea why he had the fever but three days later it was gone. Strange but at least he's ok. Anyway, he My mom's plane made it here only a day late but unfortunately that meant she missed our Polar Express train ride. We still had a great time even though we missed her and it was pouring rain when we had to run into the station. We made cinnamon Christmas tree ornaments and our annual gingerbread houses. Even Alex joined in a bit but he's not as into it as he used to be. He's really growing up! :( For Christmas I got the mother of all knitting needle sets Knitpicks Natural Harmony wooden needles. A COMPLETE set!!! WOW!!!! I also got some wonderful yarn to go with them so that's kept me busy too. :) After Christmas we headed to Illinois to visit Mark's family in Washington, Peoria and Rochester. What a lot of driving! It was nice to see everyone though and the boys had a BLAST with their cousins.
Well, I really need to rest now and Zac is hungry so I guess I better try and get him something to eat.
I really have missed all my blogging friends and cannot wait to catch back up with everyone.

Oh, I went with the happy birthday background #1 because Alex and Ethan's birthday's are this month and #2 I'm too sick to search for anything else right now!

ABC's

Ya know if I sent my boys to school I might have someone else I could at least pretend to blame but since they are homeschooled I guess I have no one to blame but myself....oh, I know - I'll blame Mark! :) This morning as I was making breakfast Zacy was painting Christmas decorations and singing his ABC's. As I listened to that sweet adorable voice I totally cracked up! This is what I heard - A,B,C,D,E,F,G,H,I,J,K, ANIMAL PEE, Q,R,S,T,U,V,W,X,Y and Z. My sides still hurt from laughing so hard! What a wonderful blessing these little guys are in my life every single day. :)
