Fireworks!

Every year on the 4th of July, our neighborhood puts on the most awesome firework show around. It is amazing! And since we are up on a ridge we get a great view of about 4 or 5 other firework shows from our house. We can see them going off downtown, up on Signal Mountain, Lake Winnie, Soddy Daisy - just everywhere. There is really no need to go anywhere. AND we can watch them in our jammies. :) How fun is that?!

We did go see some on the 3rd and they were great, but not much better than what we get right here on our front step. The boys, as usual, made some new friends and Zac was thrilled with the fireworks. Well, at least the first 15 min. He screamed "That was awesome!!" and "Hit the deck!"after every one at the top of his lungs. After 15 min. however, he changed it to "Can we be done now? Me want to go home" after every one. We all had a great time though and Zac was more than ready to watch them from home tonight. He would watch some and then go in for a bit and then come watch some more. They go LATE into the night here. I cannot imagine how much our neighbors spend on fireworks but I'm glad they do!

Waiting for the fireworks on the 3rd

How cool that your neighborhood puts on fireworks. I'm sure you remember that they are illegal in IL! :( Lucky for us, we went to my aunt and uncles across the river in Maywood where they are legal and put on our own show!!

BTW fire balloons are something my aunt does where she folds newspaper a certain way and then you light the corners. It fills the paper up with air and it floats up until the whole thing burns away. It's kind of neat but at the same time, we like to tease her because she takes it so seriously.

We go see them in our backyard lol, close enough to the 4h fairgrounds where the town show is that we don't have to go into town. We had a couple hearts and one heart with an arrow through it those were neat, oh and the smily faces there were alot of those
